This blog is old and I no longer have this phone, but I still hate it with such a passion I have to rage. Once you get past superficial useage of this phone it sucked more than anything I have ever owned.

The calendar is broken. You can literally cause it to display the wrong day name for the date, and if you go by that name to advance the calendar to another date to post an event, you'll find you posted it on the wrong day.

The email is broken. It will suddenly decide it will no longer download email and that's it. The only sign you'll find that it's stopped is that 3 days after stopping you'll wonder why you no longer receive emails.

Notes is broken. Even though the thing has literally gigabytes of storage at is disposal, you are limited to about 9 total notes and they are limited to 160, 255, or 500 characters (I forget)

Every freaking feature was either broken or was rendered nearly useless due to some bone headed programming limitation.

I hated this phone with such a passion that I actually posted videos of the bugs. I pleaded with Samsung and Sprint to do something about the bugs. I even contacted the Attorney General's office of New Jersey due to Samsung ignoring my requests to make that POS work the way it was advertised to work! I finally said "Screw it" and ditched Sprint entirely just to get away from that awful phone. I'm now with Metro PCS with an el cheapo phone built by a generic Chinese manufacturer and happy because as limited as this phone is the features it does have actually works... more or less. The service is also far more reasonably priced.

I bought a Samsung TV 2 months prior to this and just recently discovered that the component video jacks on AV1 and AV2 just do not work. I'm out of warranty so Samsung's pathetic sub-Microsoft quality control standards are going to cost me $350.

I (and I don't know why) bought a Samsung bluray player in Feb. It had a sporadic problem playing standard DVDs (it sometimes got stuck on FBI warnings and things at the beginning of a disc) so I sent it in for repair. It came back and did the exact same thing on the first DVD I tried. I sent it back a second time, it returned and failed on the 3rd disc I put in.

SAMSUNG DOES NOT CARE AT ALL ABOUT THE USER.

I am now scheduled to receive a call within 2 days from some higher level tech support on replacing this f***ing lemon.

I
WILL
NEVER

buy a Samsung product again. 3 devices purchased within 2 years and all of them displayed a complete lack of concern for the quality of the product. I swear Microsoft put more care into the design of the original XBOX360 than Samsung put into all of the products I bought from them.

Never again Samsung, never again.

I have a Samsung Star Nxt phone that sucks completely. Right on the box it is written in BIG LETTERS - SAMSUNG APPS!
But when I visited the apps website, it says that this phone is not compatible with the apps site. What the f**kkk??
And have you tried their Samsung PC Studio and the Samsung Kies software? Both of them suck a BIG time! I hate Samsung for cheating me by advertising "Samsung Apps" on the package box when the phone is NOT COMPATIBLE with the crappy Samsung Apps website.

I Have had the Instinct for 2 years in those 2 years I have sent it back 10 times they have neither fixed the problem or replaced it. The problems include Typing on its own, Not charging, Pushing its own buttons, Forwarding random texts to other contacts. I am stuck with this phone for 2 more months and will never buy Samsung again.

Pretty much in line with everyone. Native browser sucks, limited to only 200 characters if I use opera mini and don't even get me started on the speaker/headphone volume. Ever try Pandora?

I hate the instinct. Worst buy in a phone I have ever done. The touch screen is horrid and the internet is terrible. I am very eagerly looking forward to the HTC EVO. The EVO looks awesome! Forget the phone using wi-fi... it is going to be a wi-fi hot spot! So cool! Can't wait for summer to get here so I can ditch this piece of junk instinct.

Yeah instinct has it's failures, lockups and pop ups. Could've been way better. But I do have one thing to ask if anyone knows this, how in the world, or is there a way to stop text messages from popping up, I mean, jeez not only I don't want someone to be using my phone and someone decides to send me a XXX text, but also I can be texting, emailing a long email or whatever and it'll pop up and I'll hit it and everything I typed before other than a previous text is gone, and you can't just simply hit back to go back to what you were doing, that has to be an issue with most users cause that sucks so bad.

1) Bad touch screen hit detection. Calibration tool is useless.

2) Horrendous calendar. Laughably bad calendar. The-developer-who-coded-the-calendar-ought-to-be-fired bad calendar. Want a reason? How about a maximum of 60 entries, the inability to set an event to repeat on a regular basis even though it allows you to specify this, a 32 character limit on event information, a bug that causes events to be set for the day following the one you specify, and a time consuming "cool" wheel-based method for setting the time.

3) Terrible web browser that does not respond to clicking on hyperlinks. Chances are the thing will zoom in and out for no reason when clicked than activate the link.

4) Terrible web broweser that does not go to links! If you manage to click on a link you run a big possibility of getting the Instinct's famous "Link Expired" error.

5) Missed calls and texts give one reminder and that's it.

6) Flakey alarm that will ring hours off for no reason whatsoever.

7) Freezes, stalls, and hangs for no good reason.

8) Terrible reception.

9) Can't hang up by putting the phone in standby.

10) Unpredictable keypad: will it show up in portrait or landscape? What buttons will be available? No one knows until it appears.
